Why use ozone in spas?  Ozone is the most powerful spa sanitizer, 200 times more powerful than chlorine at killing viruses and bacteria.  Aiding in the filtration process, ozone clears up cloudy spa water and significantly reduces the need for bromine, chlorine, spa shock and other spa chemicals.

  1. Does exactly what it says, installation was easy! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Apr 2018

Yes the product is great, does exactly what it is supposed to and was trivial to install. The best part was dealing with Jen at loveyourhottub.com because she helped me pick the right product for my situation, gave me advise on installation, and insights about expected longevity and replacing the check valves! So 5 stars for loveyourhottub.com too! I’ll be back for supplies!

  2. Got a SwimSpa? You're gonna want one of these!!! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Jul 2016

So, to put it simply, this Ozonator MCD-250 will cut down maintenance use by an easy 60-90 percent based on how often you use your spa/swim spa my wife and I use our swim spa for approx 5-7 days a week and I'm putting in a small capful of shock once a week to help break up oils and move it to the filters but other than that I'm probably adding only 2-3 bromine tablets a week at the most..before I was adding a pound almost and that's mainly due to the fact that it's a swim spa with 3 times your typical water volume in a normal hot tub. The MCD-250 also allows you to use less bromine and chemicals overall...only 1 part per million (ppm) as opposed to 3-5ppm. We purchase a box of 18lbs of bromine tablets from swim spa and I haven't come close to needing to dip into that yet all thanks to the brominator...Buyers beware of dealers trying to sell you ozonators for your spa that don't have enough air output according to the water volume in your spa. Catalina tried selling me an MCD-50 that supports up to 1000 gallons which is great for a Normal size hot tub but for a swim spa, the MCD-250 is the Best Buy your going to find and the easiest..also NO ozone smell at all with this one.

Great service on the new ozonator. loveyourhottub.com took the extra time to make sure the unit was functioning correctly. The unit makes water chemistry much easier.

  4. I Never had Crystal Clear Water Before the MCD-250 5 Star Review

Posted by on 21st Dec 2015

I purchased a $15,000 Arctic Spa, top of the line hot tub with ozone and an salt cell. But I could never get the water crystal Clear until I took out the pathetic factory "50" ozone unit and replaced it with the MCD-250 with 500% more ozone output. Within days my hot tub water was sparking clear. There is no smell of ozone due to the improved injection atomizer (inexpensive and easy to install). The installation of the MCD-250 was also a matter of one plug and one hose clamp. If you can get the existing ozone unit, the upgrade is easy. If your tub doesn't have an ozonator already, some minor custom fabrication is needed. But you have to add ozone if you want clear water with very little effort.

I am also using far fewer chemicals, which will pay for the ozonator during it's life expectancy of a few year. The lower chemical level is also easier on the skin and sinuses and improves the hot tub experience noticeably.

Additionally I noticed that the ph of the water, stays much more stable for longer periods of time (chemical savings). Having the ph in the critical range is also necessary for having comfortable clear water that isn't super corrosive to your pumps and plumbing (more savings on slower equipment deterioration).

I will never own a hot tub without a high output ozonator again.

Jennifer, the owner of "Love your Hot Tub" will personally help you through the process and is great about answering the phone or returning calls. She is the best.

Of the approximately $25,000 I have spent on hot tubs in the last two decades, this it the best $200 that I have spent.

Buy one today. This is a no brainer.
