Product Description

Leisure Time's Sodium Bromide:

  • For use with brominating tablets in hot tubs and spas
  • Establishes a bromide reserve

Sodium Bromide applications:

  • To be used with brominating tablets (aka Brom Tabs) during start-up (new spas or water refill)
  • Add 1/2 oz per 100 gallons of spa water to establish a 30 PPM bromide reserve
  • Add Leisure Time Brom Tabs to establish a bromine level
  • Repeat steps 1-2 when spa is drained and refilled
Tip:  Leisure Time Sodium Bromide is NOT a disinfectant.  It is used to establish a reserve of bromide in spa or hot tub water.  It is necessary to use a sanitizer to disinfect the water.

ARCH Chemicals has been manufacturing Leisure Time for over 25 years.  Consistent, powerful, and well-formulated, Leisure Time is the most popular brand of spa and hot tub chemicals today.

  1. Fast & Easy 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Oct 2012

The Leisure Time Sodium Bromide dissolves rapidly and thoroughly (as it should) making it easy to estabolish a bromide 'reserve'.

You've just got to make sure you add enough, since slightly more is better than slightly less if you're using sodium hypochlorite as the oxidizer (to create the desired disinfectant hypobromous acid), because you don't want any free hypochlorous acid left to create those nasty smelling chloramines - the very reason for using bromine instead of just chlorine!

A great product, which is simple and easy to use.
